"After the season was done I felt like I was in the best shape of my life." - Julia F

Professional Knowledge

Fueling Mark's athletic prowess is an avid fascination with training techniques and methods. A believer in experience, his obsession in mind and body has led him to test all things health and fitness, including some more radical lifestyle experiments.

Mark began strength training with body weights. Being home schooled for most of his grade school career, Mark seldom had access to a gym. As a result, he is highly experienced with plyometrics and gymnastic workouts.

His knowledge of strength and conditioning has taken a series of leaps, from hard work and long hours to a minimalistic approach. In the future, Mark plans on exploring the iron game in-depth.

Athletic Experience

Mark has been involved in physical fitness and competition since childhood. His sports experience ranches from competitive swimming, wrestling and Tae Kwon Do to an awarded varsity athlete in basketball and soccer.

A fearsome defender of the Warroad Panther varsity soccer team, Mark was captain of the defense since his freshman year and named Team Captain in 2003 and 2005. Despite being positioned as the center defender (sweeper/stopper), Mark regularly scored goals, including a spectacular full-field drive and tying goal in the last 15 seconds of competition  to send the championship game of the Northwest Regional Soccer Tournament into a shootout.

Mark was also an accomplished basketball player for the Warroad Warrior varsity basketball team. Persevering through a difficult senior season, he was given the All-Conference award. He also won the "Player of the Game" award during the team's season-ender against undefeated conference rivals, the Grygla Eagles, during which he scored 16-points and held his defensive assignment to zero points, zero assists and three turnovers.
